The vendor required to provide payment solutions will be in two (2) categories:
- Category 1: prepaid transportation services payment solutions:
a. Physical and virtual prepaid cards, accounts, and digital wallets that can be funded from multiple sources, such as;
• End user deposited funds (both pre-tax and post-tax);
• Employer sponsored programs funding transportation services;
• Community programs funding end users who meet specific criteria such as income-based programs; and,
• Community programs targeting specific types of use cases such as commuter incentive programs.
b. Complementary transportation services payment back office, account management, and platform services, such as:
• Account management interfaces for entities and end users, including mobile applications;
• Real-time transaction monitoring and reporting;
• Autoloading and auto-disbursement of funds at regular intervals;
• End-user intake and sign-up services;
• Marketing and advertising of program services;
• Advertising revenue services;
• Data analytics and performance analysis;
• Merchant category code and other use restrictions and limitations management;
• Customer service and support for all stakeholders;
• Regulatory compliance services;
• Facilitation, generation, and support of periodic reporting for standard and custom reports; and,
• Integration of payment solutions and access for use of transportation services with existing and future mobility platforms, such as: transit, rideshare, taxi, and micro-mobility.
- Category 2: fare collection and ticketing transportation payment solutions systems:
a. Fare collection devices and technology solutions, such as,
• Validation and ticketing devices;
o Mobile and on-board validators;
o Fare gates;
o Standalone validators;
o Ticket vending machines;
• Mobile payment collection systems;
o Contactless card readers;
o Digital wallet readers;
o QR code validators;
• Validation inspection devices;
o Handheld validators;
o Biometric devices;
o Fare inspection apps;
• Related fare media, such as data processing and communication devices and equipment;
b. Mobile pay-as-you-go ticketing solutions and technologies, such as:
• Payment service provider integration;
• Fare calculation capabilities;
• Fare capping and post-payment models;
• Financial reporting;
• Fraud detection and prevention;
• Integration with validation equipment; and,
• Automatic journey detection via smart devices.
c. Complementary transportation services payment solutions back office, account management, and platform services, such as:
• Account management interfaces for entities and end users, including mobile applications;
• Real-time transaction monitoring and reporting;
• End-user intake and sign-up services;
• Marketing and advertising of program services;
• Advertising revenue services;
• Data analytics and performance analysis;
• Customer service and support for all stakeholders;
• Regulatory compliance services;
• Facilitation, generation, and support of periodic reporting for standard and custom reports;
• Training programs and materials for all stakeholders; and,
• Integration of payment solutions and access for use of transportation services with existing and future mobility platforms such as transit, rideshare, taxi, and micro-mobility.
