The Vendor is required to provide to replace agency aging fare collection/sales system with a modern, state-of-the-art fare collection system (FCS) for fixed route, and on demand services and to provide support, additional equipment, services, and maintenance on an as needed basis throughout the useful life of the system.
- This will improve access to the new FCS for un- and underbanked individuals by allowing them to present a credential for their account (such as a reloadable smart card or a mobile ticketing application), pay cash, and have the value added to their account immediately.
- If utilizing an account-based system, customers must be able to view account transaction history.
- A system is required for central configuration, monitoring, control, and reporting of all equipment and programs within the system.
- Cash payment process shall include protection so that cash is not accessible by staff from the time of purchase to the time of secure collection.
