The vendor required to provide accessibility application text-to-speech and speech-to-text and word prediction applications for exceptional education students.
- Requirements
• Provide a web-based application that will allow students to access all the following accessibility features:
o Text-to-speech to include:
1. Websites
2. Pdfs
3. Microsoft word
4. Google applications
o Speech-to-text in multiple applications, to include:
1. Google docs
2. Google slides
3. Microsoft word
o Word prediction.
o Ability to record audio responses on documents.
• Provide accessibility applications that allows for OCR conversion.
• Provide accessibility applications that works with the LMS system of Schoology.
• Provide an extension that will allow the accessibility application to work within various testing environments.
- Integration
• Accessibility applications shall provide methods for user account administration that are easy to use and maintain.
• Accessibility applications shall support a single sign-on solution that does not require staff or students to have a separate account or password for accessing the application.
• Accessibility applications shall allow for lti, azure active directory or LDAP (lightweight directory access protocol) as a method of authentication and authorization.
• Accessibility applications shall provide a means to identify the individual or client using the application, authenticate the individual and determine the authorities and rights granted to that individual as well as a reporting engine for tracking usage and progress.
• Any requirements for students, staff, course, roster, or school information must be supported through a common specification.
• The exchange of data must be through a common protocol and not require the installation of vendor-specific software in the county internal infrastructure.
- Accessibility and web accessibility
• The digital reading and writing resource must comply with the information technology accessibility act which requires that information technology developed, purchased, or provided is accessible to individuals with disabilities.
• Accessibility applications shall be accessible to persons with disabilities, including:
o Blindness, color blindness, visual impairment
o Deafness, hearing impairment.
o Speech impairment.
o Mobility, strength, dexterity or reaching impairment.
• Accessibility applications shall support the use of commonly available screen readers.
