Collaborative Peer-to-Peer Learning Annotation Tool

The Vendor is required to provide a collaborative peer-to-peer learning annotation tool to promote student engagement and improve the overall learning experience in courses across a broad range of subject areas. The solution must supply a secure, accessible, and intuitive product that is tightly integrated with the Canvas Learning Management System (Canvas LMS) through the Learning Tools Interoperability (LTI) standard and leverages Canvas functionality.
- Solution will provide the following specifications:
• Initially seats for 9,000 users with the opportunity to grow over the term of the contract.
• Capabilities for the following roles: students, instructors, administrators, and reviewers.
• The product must be embedded within, or accessible from Canvas LMS via an LTI integration using the latest LTI standards
• The product must conforms with the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 AA and Section 508 Standards (2018 Revision).
• Ability to annotate PDFs’ webpages and images.
• Ability to toggle posted annotations in visible/hidden state.
• Integrated with Canvas’s assignment submission and grading (Gradebook) functions.
• Provides a single sign-on (SSO) experience between Canvas and external components.
• Ability to filter and/or search annotations by user, hashtag, keyword.
• Integrates with the Canvas file system.
• Complies with student privacy regulations as specified within the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (“FERPA”) and its implementing regulations.
• Asynchronous and real-time collaboration.
• Implementation and Configuration
○ Assigned project or account manager who will be the sole point of contact for implementation and configuration assistance.
○ Remote end-user training.
○ Documentation consulting.
○ Configuration consulting, including best practices for the University’s intended use of the product.
○ Implementation troubleshooting.
○ Supports structured rubrics for annotation review.
○ Built-in analytics (participation reports, annotation heat maps, reviewer quality Metrics.
