The vendor is required to provide sign language interpretation services on an “as required basis” by issue of delivery order (DO).
- Interpreter services being sought will be appropropriate for: public health care services, access to county services and resources, legal matters (consultations and court appearances), job interviews or training, and other services and activities as needed for county to serve the community.
- Item specifications
• Provide services to all those in need regardless of age, gender, race, religion, or income.
• The foreign language interpreters to be used during the service provision have basic competence in the subject language and are able to interpret effectively, accurately, and impartially.
• Interpreters shall accurately and effectively convey a complete conversation, interpreting what is being said by all parties involved.
• Based on length of the assignment, number of clients and subject matter, the number of interpreters shall be determined by the contractor in consultation with the requester.
• The capability to provide video remote interpreting (VRI) services
• Services shall be available 24 hours/day, 7 days a week, including holidays.
• For emergency situations, interpreters shall be available to be reached 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including holidays.
• Interpreter services, when possible, shall be requested by the county at least four (4) business days in advance of the time needed, however, contractor shall have the ability to respond to urgent requests where less than 24 hours’ notice is provided.
• Translator shall arrive on time to provide translation services as requested and as documented by a delivery order of an e-mail.
• Invoice on-site and remote interpretation services in 15-minute increments.
• Assess a flat fee for cancellation for any requests for services that are cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice.
• Business hours are defined as Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. state time.
• Evening and weekend hours are anytime outside of business hours.
• Billed hours are measured from arrival of interpreter onsite or commencement of VRI to termination of services.
• Travel time and mileage may only be assessed when services are provided onsite, outside of the areas.
