The Vendor is required to provide translation or interpretation services for foreign language and sign language (ASL).
- Foreign language interpretation and translation services are needed to assist English-speaking employees and clients who speak languages other than English or whose English proficiency is limited, and sign language (ASL) interpretation is needed.
- Interpreter services:
• To facilitate communication between county employees and clients so that clients have the opportunity to successfully complete treatment plans, program goals, and obtain county services.
- Translation services:
• To assist in the creation or translation of non-English or braille documents and signage for use with county programs and purposes.
- For ASL interpretation requested by the sheriff’s office, contractor shall provide an ASL interpreter within 3 Hours of a work order at any day and time.
- Provide qualifications of a specific interpreter or translator if requested by the county.
- Bill for mileage for in-person interpretation services provided at locations outside of the metropolitan area.
- For in-person interpretation services outside of the area, contractor shall bill for mileage at the mileage rate set forth in the fee schedule.
