The Vendor is required to provide for interpretation and translation services, 365-days a year, 7-days a week, 24-hours a day, on an “as-needed” basis, to agencies statewide.
- The interpreting services include onsite in-person interpreting service, on-demand remote interpreting services (over the phone and video remote interpreting), and/or document translation for spoken languages.
- Statewide in-person interpreting service 365-days a year/7- days a week; 2) 365-days a year/7-days a week/24-hours a day Onsite In-Person Interpreting, On-Demand Remote Interpreting (OPI and VRI), and/or Document Translation services on an "as needed" basis for Limited English Proficient (LEP) clients needing immediate interpreter or translation assistance and must meet or exceed.
- The top fourteen (14) languages spoken by individuals with LEP in the State are Ilocano, Japanese, Tagalog, Korean, Cantonese, Spanish, Vietnamese, Chuukese, Mandarin, Samoan, Hawaiian, Marshallese, Cebuano, and Thai.
- Services include:
• Statewide onsite in-person interpreting service;
• On-demand remote interpreting services (such as Over-the-Phone Interpretation (OPI) and Video Remote Interpretation (VRI));
• Document translation in Pacific Islanders' languages (such as Chuukese, Olelo state, Marshallese, Samoan, Tongan, Kosraean, Pohpeian, Yapese, and other commonly used pacific islanders' languages in state);
• Document translation in languages other than pacific islanders' languages.
- Immediate telephone-based interpreter services will facilitate communication between the clients with LEP and the service provider in a timely manner or when an on- site interpreter is not readily available.
