The Vendor is required to provide for a volunteer peer coaching program, which will be housed within the office.
- Provide an individual or organization with the appropriate experience, licensure and/or certifications that designs, trains, and advises on a peer coaching program focused on building the capacity of impacted workers, spouses, family members or community members who are interested in being peer coaches.
- The program aims to provide emotional support, practical assistance, and connections with other supports to help affected individuals transition smoothly and successfully.
- This service provider will work closely with OJT and its designated Coal Transition Navigator(s) to support and provide technical assistance for the launch of a peer coaching program in counties and the coal workers residing in the area and impacted by coal closures.
- Funding cannot be used to support part-time or full-time peer coach positions during the first year of the program.
- However, beginning in the second year of the project, applicants may request funding in their budget to support peer coaches—provided that the coaches are both part of the target population and based locally.
- To support engagement in the first year, applicants are encouraged to propose a budget item for participant incentives for individuals who attend training sessions or participate in peer coach meetings.
- Budget: $250,000.
