The Vendor is required to provide high-quality professional learning and technical assistance to increase the skills and capacity of educators to develop a strong continuum of supports such as the ability to: identify the specific needs of students with language acquisition needs, identify effective programs and instructional strategies to meet needs through universal supports, differentiation, and intervention, and to monitor progress.
- To assess current capacity, programming, and educator knowledge in supporting language acquisition and literacy needs, the selected Offeror will facilitate two virtual meetings.
- Virtual meeting platform must be furnished by the selected Offeror, and the expectation is that the hosted sessions last 45-60 minutes in duration.
- Developing a school-wide orientation to support learners across a continuum of supports model with language acquisition and literacy needs, including teaming structures, processes, and professional learning;
- Data-based Decision Making and Assessment for students with language acquisition and literacy needs, including individual, classroom- and school- level data collection, analysis, and planning using team-based problem solving for continuous improvement;
- Universal supports for students with language acquisition and literacy needs across the school and within core instruction;
- Differentiated Instruction for students with language acquisition and literacy needs, including understanding linguistic needs, and developing scaffolds and supports for core instruction; and
- Supplemental Intervention for students with language acquisition and literacy needs, including effective assessment of use of linguistically responsive intervention activities and materials
- Provide examples of participant activities to follow community of practice sessions, along with expectations for reporting outcomes, successes, and challenges in subsequent sessions.
