The vendor is required to provide indigent defense services for defendants in each city’s municipal
court and community court.
- The cities will also entertain qualification submittals from a collaboration of independent law firms, or a newly created organization qualified and prepared to offer the desired services.
- The cities will pay the selected public defender for legal representation services based on a negotiated monthly fee, including lawyer services and appropriate staff services, investigation, sentencing advocacy, and other legal services including, but not limited to interviews with clients and potential witnesses, legal research, interpreter services, preparation and filing of pleadings, and preparation for and appearance at hearings and court proceedings, including attendance at in-custody hearings.
