RFP Description

The Vendor is required to provide non-personal services contract for an advisory conflict resolution specialist who will facilitate fair and equitable resolutions to internal concerns that may arise within the university.
- Services includes:
• Enhanced skills and competencies: participants will acquire and refine essential skills and diversity competencies critical for fostering an inclusive and respectful workplace; this outcome includes improved abilities in conflict resolution, communication, cultural competence, and understanding of equity and diversity principles.
• Increased understanding of team dynamics: participants will gain a deeper insight into the dynamics within their team, identifying areas of strength; challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
• Improved interpersonal communications and connections: participants will experience improved interpersonal relationships and communication within the team through utilizing active listening skills, empathy, and nurturing the ability to navigate challenging conversations constructively.
• Clarity of team goals and direction: participants will achieve clarity on team goals, values, and collective direction.
• Adherence to EEO policies, procedures, and expectations: participants will demonstrate a heightened awareness and understanding of equal employment opportunity (EEO) policies and procedures while promoting fairness, equity, and respect for all team members.
• Cultural Transformation and Inclusivity: Initiate a cultural shift towards a more inclusive and respectful workplace environment.
- Ensure the confidentiality of individual and group communications, organizational neutrality, and independence.
- Provide mechanisms that encourage employees and managers to voice concerns and constructive dissent early.
- Main focus is to help resolve issues and facilitate an environment of open communication.
- Conduct mediation/facilitation sessions for the purposes of exchanging information among participants and identifying techniques that will facilitate dispute resolution, resolve workplace conflicts, and improve communication in the workplace.
- Facilitation/mediation, the Contractor must also be prepared to engage in:
• Active listening.
• Providing information and coaching.
• Assisting employees in reframing issues and developing options.
• Referrals to additional resources or assistance networks.
• Informally exploring the issue or conflict.
• Shuttle diplomacy.
- Provide a quarterly report that, while maintaining employee confidentiality, identifies the number of employee-clients seen, number of contact hours per employee-client, the number of successful outcomes, the number of unsuccessful outcomes, the types of concerns or conflicts raised by employee-clients, the current problems and patterns that are apparent from services rendered to employee-clients, and suggestions for resolutions of these problems/patterns.
