The vendor is required to provide occupational medical on an ‘as needed’ basis.
- Provide these services to employees who are exposed to hazardous or dangerous work environments
- Ecology established a comprehensive medical monitoring (MEDMON) program.
- This program has been designed to exceed federal and state laws requiring the employer to provide medical surveillance for employees engaged in hazardous waste (HAZWASTE) operations, field inspections and investigations, and hazardous material response activities.
- Records and information handling
• Maintain all employee MEDMON medical records for ecology in accordance with chapter 296-802 WAC, employee medical and exposure records.
• These records must be maintained within the continental united states
• Provide an employee's MEDMON medical records upon their request within 15 calendar days.
• The employer, provide non-confidential records, such as clearance letters or other job-related documentation, within the same timeframe, ensuring no personal health information is disclosed
• In the event that an employee is treated by another medical provider for an exposure-related injury or illness, maintain established protocols for exchanging or obtaining medical information, coordinating follow-up care, and handling patient cases.
• Include any employer notification plan, specifying what information will be provided.
