The vendor is required to provide comprehensive public relations (PR) services in support of the agency’s communications, outreach, and community engagement goals.
- Project requirements:
• Provide public outreach to effectively assess and influence the opinion of decision makers, influencers, and the general public about public transportation services in our community.
• Develop messaging and plan to create awareness of transit, especially with local community members and organizations traditionally not involved in transit planning.
• Develop communications that include diverse communities and stakeholders, providing:
o Clear, concise, and easy-to-understand transit value statements
o Promotion of existing and new services and service changes
o Positioning of transit as a solution to regional challenges (employment, housing, environment, etc.)
• Develop messaging that tells the transit story, including:
o Conduct communications research, planning and development
o Identify and profile stakeholders and target audiences
o Recommend communication strategies
o Promote confidence and trust in RVT
• Develop communication plans including public relations and outreach actions, suggested media placement, and a range of communication materials (print, email, internet).
• Develop a solid message including a concise slogan that serves as the foundation for outreach.
