RFP Description

The Vendor is required to provide by safety and security film installation services
- A security window film that meets or exceeds the below specifications:
1. Designed to be installed on standard thickness window glass that currently exists within interior and exterior windows and doors.
2. A minimum of 8 mil in thickness; Products with higher mils offering better protection are encouraged (such as 21 mil in thickness, 24 mil in thickness)
3. Designed to maintain the structural integrity of the glass within the frame of the window, preventing flying glass and preventing the glass from separating from the frame.
4. Designed to prevent the removal of glass from the window frame when the glass has been penetrated by bullets or other penetrating objects
5. Designed to delay an intruder attempting to enter a space by means of striking the glass with objects, breaking or tearing a hole into the glass in order to enter through or reach through the glass in order to gain entry
6. Strong bonding adhesive to ensure long-lasting durability in bonding of film to window and within layers of film, if applicable
7. Block at least 99% of the sun’s UV rays and protect against fading and degradation, but maintains a clear appearance without significant tinting or distortion
8. Scratch resistant protective coating, which does not cause significant tinting or distortion
9. Installed using industry standard caulking / glazing appropriate for the selected security window film, per the window film manufacturer’s recommendations
10. Installed using industry standard caulking / glazing application / anchoring process / techniques to prevent the film from separating from the glass and to prevent the glass from separating from the window frame
11. Warranty includes product and installation
12. Has been tested by independent laboratory to meet various industry standards related to security window film
- Installation Locations / Zones:
- Identified three (3) zones for the application of security window film application; the zones are defined as:
1. Zone 1: Exterior Entry Way Doors and Windows – includes glass in exterior doors, and glass within ten (10) feet on each side of the door(s), from the bottom of the glass to the height of the doorway.
2. Zone 2: Non-entry way Exterior Glass – includes all exterior glass windows on the ground level or below ground level, from the bottom of the glass to the height of seven feet (7 ft.)
3. Zone 3: Interior Classroom Door Window Glass – glass windows in classroom doors.
- There are thirty-three (33) buildings included in this project.
- Times can be scheduled for measuring.
