Independent Auditing Services

The vendor is required to provide that independent auditing services for a complete and comprehensive audit of:
• The school financial records, in accordance with auditing standards as required by state law and administrative code.
• The school financial records for the purpose of a federal single audit, in accordance with auditing standards as required by federal law.
• The school retirement plan, in accordance with auditing standards as required for the 403(b)-retirement plan.
- Collaborate with business office staff, administration, and/or consultants to audit the school’s financial records, as required by state law.
- Coordinate audit fieldwork and reporting with the school’s audit committee or governing board.
- Conduct fieldwork conveniently at the school’s location when appropriate or necessary.
- assist with resolving discrepancies in accrued expenses, salaries, revenues, and depreciation of fixed assets.
- Provide adjusting journal entries and a copy of the final trial balance to the school’s staff.
- Review and approve the annual finance report and annual program report (UPEFS) to ensure timely to the department.
- Audited financial statements and single audit reports by all required deadlines.
- The results of the audit in-person to the school’s audit committee and/or the governing board as requested;
- Prepare and submit school income tax returns;
- Prepare financial report and submit single audit report to school audit committee and federal site;
- Work with business office staff and 3rd party administrator to review retirement census and reports to compile financial report for form 5500.
- Prepare retirement financial report and submit to school audit committee and business office staff.
- About general accounting from the school and provide technical support related to the audit and accounting records throughout the year.
- Firms must meet professional peer review and continuing education standards and ensure timely, accurate, and budget-conscious audit work.
