The Vendor is required to provide to strengthen the financial capacity, oversight, and sustainability of the authority and its charter schools.
- The consultant will serve as a trusted partner to provide expert financial guidance, technical assistance, and capacity-building support to ensure compliance, fiscal responsibility, and long-term stability across the charter school system.
- Meetings, Consultation, and Collaboration
• Participate in regular meetings with agency staff to review financial matters, reporting deadlines, and emerging issues.
• Attend agency board meetings as needed to provide financial insight and updates.
• Meet with schools and external agencies/entities to offer consultation and guidance on financial management, compliance, and reporting.
• Foster collaboration and transparency by maintaining open communication with agency staff, board members, and school operators while implementing quality control practices that limit mistakes reduce misinformation, and ensure reliable guidance.
- Technical Assistance and Financial Support
• Provide expert technical assistance on charter school finance, including state funding formulas, budget development, and financial reporting requirements.
• Support schools in accurate budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management to ensure compliance with agency, state, and federal financial standards.
• Assist in interpreting and implementing financial policies, practices, and legislative changes, offering guidance on potential financial impacts and compliance strategies.
- Financial Analysis and Oversight
• Conduct in-depth reviews of school financial statements, budgets, audits, and performance data to identify risks, trends, and areas for improvement.
• Prepare actionable analyses and recommendations to support agency financial oversight and strategic decision-making.
• Provide guidance that informs budget planning, resource allocation, and long-term financial strategy in alignment with agency mission.
- Capacity Building and Knowledge Transfer
• Deliver training, mentoring, and technical guidance to agency staff and school personnel to build internal financial management capacity.
• Develop and share tools, templates, and resources that promote financial sustainability and best practices.
• Ensure knowledge transfer to support long-term organizational resilience and reduce dependency on external support.
