The vendor is required to provide solid waste audit analysis and reporting will determine the composition, by weight, of the waste stream by waste type, as well as by generator.
- Requirements
• Responsible for the design and implementation of comprehensive waste sort and analysis, and documentation of the findings.
• All methods and procedures must be authorized by university in advance of the physical sort and audit.
• The study will include a sufficient number of samples for meaningful and statistically reliable estimate (minimum 90% confidence level).
• The consultant will clearly state their expected confidence level and provide supporting information to corroborate.
- Goals:
• The analysis will measure waste by weight for each sample as well as every generator type and operation.
• This information will be recorded in a spreadsheet including applicable graphs or charts.
- Sampling plan:
• Develop a sampling plan and rationale for a statistically significant waste composition analysis for university.
• The proposal shall indicate approach to program design, sampling sites and rates and frequencies required to ensure study meets required confidence level.
• Develop methodology and conduct a physical analysis (waste sort) of the waste stream for all outlined generator types.
• The plan should aim to provide statistically valid data for the agreed-upon generator profiles.
• The consultant may suggest new and different generator types based on industry-specific knowledge.
• They will provide supporting reasons for suggesting any new and different generator types.
