The Vendor is required to provide from qualified certified public accountants to audit its FY26, FY27 and FY28 financial statements.
- The finance department includes the chief financial officer, assessor, treasurer/collector and staff.
- The school system uses the financial software applications of the town (softright), but the day-to-day oversight of school finance is administered through the school business office.
- The audit shall be conducted for purposes of forming an opinion on the financial statements, taken as a whole, and to determine whether operations were conducted in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Completion of a management letter, which shall identify any management weaknesses observed, assess their effect on financial management and propose steps to correct or eliminate the weaknesses.
- The final copy of the management letter shall contain printed responses from the head of each department for which there is a management recommendation.
- In addition to completing the annual audit, the accounting firm shall be available during normal business hours throughout the contract period to provide the Town with advice and guidance on financial accounting and reporting issues.
- Engagement team or office shall not be utilized to provide more than one financial audit, consulting, or analysis service to the town concurrently, without prior written approval from the town council president.
