The vendor is required to provide that sewer construction services that include:
-Disturbed areas and open trench limits are governed by the most current utility policy
-The leakage test shall be performed in accordance with the appropriate section.
-connection of newly installed sanitary sewer main pipe to existing pipe shall be made using solid sleeve fence coupling or approved equal.
-The unit price shall include excavation, backfilling with suitable material and the restoration (topsoil & seed) of the disturbed area.
-Shall be counted and paid for per individual unit. excavation and backfill for these items shall be included in the measurement of pipe/lateral and not treated separately
-Restraint of new pipe will be with city approved meg-a lug or an approved equal product and will be installed as the pipe is laid.
-Joint restraint of existing pipe will require restraining the needed joint with a city approved harness restraint.
-Joint restraint will be paid by each joint restrained
-The unit price shall include excavation, removal of box and cover, replacing sections, backfilling with suitable material, compacting, pavement patching, adjusting to final grade, disposing of surplus or unsuitable materials, top soiling, seeding, and for furnishing all materials, labor, tools, equipment and incidentals necessary to complete the work.
-Trench depth shall be paid for in the base bid line-item price, plus any additional cost based on the pipe invert, as noted in the price sheet. for example, a pipe with an invert that is 7 feet deep shall be paid as the base price plus the additional depth modifier
-include the removal of the existing lateral.
-On all manufacturer recommended pipe materials for new connections to existing lines where existing connections are not present.
insert-tees shall not be used when new mainlines are being installed.
-The unit price shall include the supply and installation of the manhole insert as required by the city’s standard detail.
-Core drill into manhole and provide rubber boot for lateral, paid for each installed. mainline connections to manhole shall be priced assuming the existing manhole is brick
-The unit price shall include all work associated with removing and installing a new bench and invert.
-The unit price shall include all labor and material to remove the existing outside drop connection from manholes and to install a new inside drop in the existing manholes.
-The unit price shall include excavation, installation of temporary air vents, filling with flowable fill, capping or plugging, backfilling with suitable material, compacting, pavement patching, disposing of surplus or unsuitable materials, handling of hazardous materials (e.g. asbestos), top soiling, seeding, restoration and cleanup of property, and for furnishing all materials, labor, tools, equipment and incidentals necessary to complete the work.
-Contract Period/Term: 3 years
