The Vendor is required to provide to serve as an industry Al consultant for its career and technical education data science and Al programming.
- Consultant will support the design, development, and implementation of high-quality, industry-aligned artificial intelligence (Al) curriculum and instructional resources that prepare students for postsecondary education and emerging workforce opportunities.
- Requirement:
1. Needs assessment and planning
• Conduct a review of existing agency programs, specifically computer science, to identify opportunities for Al integration.
• Analyze industry trends, workforce demands, and postsecondary expectations related to Al skills in how they align to agency standards for al
• Facilitate stakeholder engagement sessions with agency administrators, teachers, students, and industry partners.
2. Curriculum design and development
• Develop a four year course sequence curriculum aligned to Al industry needs for grades 9-12, including prerequisites, credentials (+micro-credentials), recommended pacing, and alignment to graduation requirements.
• Create instructional units, lesson plans, project-based learning experiences, and assessments.
• Align curriculum to relevant standards, including but not limited to:
o State agency and academic standards
o Industry-recognized credentials
o Employability and 21st-century skills
• Integrate ethical Al use, data privacy, bias awareness, and responsible technology practices.
• Integrate responsible Al practices throughout (privacy, bias awareness, transparency, safety, and appropriate classroom use), with student-facing and educator-facing guidance.
• Produce a micro-credential and dual-enrollment alignment plan that maps course outcomes to credential options and postsecondary pathways.
3. Professional learning and capacity building
• Plan and design professional development framework for agency educators on Al concepts, instructional strategies, and classroom implementation in collaboration with postsecondary institutions.
• Provide guidance on instructional tools, platforms, and resources that support Al learning.
• Develop implementation guides and sustainability plans for long-term use.
• Facilitate targeted stakeholder validation sessions (agency leadership, educators, higher-Ed partners, and industry partners) to confirm feasibility constraints, equity goals, and implementation priorities.
4. Evaluation and continuous improvement
• Establish metrics to assess curriculum effectiveness and student outcomes.
• Collect feedback from participants and partners to refine materials.
• Produce a recommendations report for scaling and continuous improvement, including resource requirements and policy and data governance considerations.
• Provide evidence-collection strategy and recommendations for pilot and year 1 implementation (surveys, observation tools, artifact review protocols, and partner feedback loops).
