The Vendor is required to provide medical education software solution that would automatically map our entire md curriculum using artificial intelligence (AI)-driven methods that analyze curricular content, learning objectives, and assessment data to generate and maintain curriculum mappings.
- Requirement:
1. AI-driven curriculum mapping
• The software solution must use artificial intelligence (Ai) to ingest and analyze learning objectives, instructional materials, assessments, and related curricular data to automatically generate and maintain a comprehensive curriculum map.
• AI functionality must include the ability to:
o Analyze both structured and unstructured curricular content (e.g., syllabi, lecture materials, assessment items)
o Generate mappings between session-level, course-level, and program-level objectives
o Continuously update mappings as new or modified content is introduced
o Improve mapping accuracy over time through model refinement and user feedback
• The supplier must describe the AI methodologies used (e.g., machine learning, natural language processing) and the level of human validation required.
• The solution must allow users to review, validate, and override AI-generated mappings.
2. Curriculum mapping structure and standards alignment
• The solution must map session-level objectives to course-level objectives and course-level objectives to medical education program objectives (MEPOS).
• The AI-driven solution must automatically map curricular content and assessments to nationally recognized frameworks,
• These mappings must be generated without requiring full manual pre-tagging of all curricular content.
3. System integration and data ingestion
• The solution must integrate with existing university systems to ingest learning objectives, instructional materials, examinations, and assessment data.
• Integration methods (e.g., API, secure file transfer, LTI, or other standard approaches) must be clearly defined by the supplier.
• The system must support ongoing synchronization or scheduled updates to maintain current and accurate mappings.
4. Search ability and user access
• The curriculum map must be fully searchable by keyword, learning objective, competency, course, session, and assessment.
• Search results must clearly display where content is taught, reinforced, and assessed.
• The system must provide role-based access that allows faculty and administrators to view, search, and analyze curriculum mappings.
5. Dashboards, reporting, and analytics
• The solution must provide dashboards and visualizations that:
o Identify curricular gaps and redundancies
o Display alignment between learning objectives and assessments
o Present student performance relative to medical education program objectives (MEPOS)
• Dashboards must be configurable and support export for reporting and accreditation purposes.
6. Accreditation support
• The solution must support LCME accreditation requirements related to curriculum mapping.
• The system must be capable of generating reports and documentation suitable for accreditation review and audit purposes.
7. Security, access control, and compliance
• Single sign-on (SSO) and multi-factor authentication (MFA).
• Role-based access control with configurable permissions.
• Comply with applicable federal and state regulations, including FERPA.
• Encrypt data both in transit and at rest.
8. Data storage and hosting
• The supplier must disclose all data storage locations, hosting infrastructure, and any third-party sub processors.
• Secure cloud-based hosting.
• Preference will be given to solutions that support country based data storage and comply with institutional data governance requirements.
9. Disaster recovery and business continuity
• The solution must include disaster recovery and business continuity capabilities.
• The supplier must describe recovery objectives, including recovery time objective (RTO) and recovery point objective (RPO)
10. AI transparency and performance
• The solution must provide transparency into AI-generated mappings, including:
o Confidence levels or scoring (if available)
o Ability for users to review how mappings were generated
• The supplier must describe expected accuracy levels and validation approaches used to ensure mapping quality.
• The software solution connects with our existing technology systems, ingests our learning objectives, learning materials, exams, and assessments, and then automatically construct a curriculum map.
o This map will tie session objectives to course objectives, and course objectives to medical education program objectives.
o Automatically map curricular content and assessments to national standards such as USMLE content outline, AAMC keywords, and med-biquitous keywords.
o The map should be searchable and provide results that demonstrate where particular concepts or learning objectives are taught and assessed.
o The map should also be accessible to faculty, who would be able to search and review the map to inform their teaching and curricular work.
• Dashboards and graphics that represent the curriculum map, and that demonstrate gaps and redundancies, and displays student performance on medical education program objectives.
• Familiar with medical education and have demonstrated an ability to support medical school programs and curricula.
• Support LCME accreditation requirements related to curriculum mapping.
• Preferably be vendor-hosted in a cloud environment rather than deployed on premises, as this approach better supports scalability, maintenance, and resource efficiency.
• The system is expected to provide the following capabilities: AI-driven tools to align curriculum content with defined learning objectives; support for single sign-on (SSO) with multi-factor authentication; role-based access with detailed permission settings; integration with assessment systems such as exam-soft; adherence to data encryption standards; secure cloud storage; and robust disaster recovery and business continuity features.
