AI-Based Traffic Counting and Classification System

The Vendor is required to provide portable, AI-based traffic counting and classification systems capable of collecting multimodal intersection and mid-block data, including turning movements, speed, vehicle classification, and pedestrian activity.

1. System capabilities (minimum)
• Use AI-based video detection
• Count 8–11 vehicle classes, including:
• Pedestrian
• Bicycle
• Micro mobility (scooters and similar)
• Motorbike
• Car
• Car with trailer
• Van
• Truck
• Truck with trailer
• Semi-trailer / articulated truck
• Capture turning movements
• Capture speed (mid-block or intersection)
• Operate in all light and weather conditions
• Support remote data access
• Provide GDPR/VoIP-compliant no-video-storage workflows
• Support up to 8 lanes and 4 directions
• Allow user-defined polygons and counting lines
• Provide peak-hour summaries, classification tables, and time diagrams (e.g., “car – 81.9%”, “semi-trailer truck – 5.5%” from uploaded report)
2. Hardware requirements
• Portable, lightweight camera system
• Telescoping pole with secure mounting straps
• Battery management system (BMS)
• LTE/Wi-Fi/Ethernet connectivity
• Security banding, locks, and tamper-resistant cable covers
• Angle finder and spirit level for alignment
• Rugged, weather-resistant housing (ip-65 or equivalent)
3. Software requirements
• Ability to export reports, charts, and diagrams
• Unlimited study creation/annual study-hour packages
• Remote access to live view, configuration, and camera angle settings.
