The vendor is required to provide for the housing needs assessment and housing strategy is outlined below:
• Review demographic trends
• Review housing development trends
• Assess and identify housing supply
• Assess, identify and project various types of demand, including lone parent family, duplexes, townhouses, student housing, and multifamily units for the 10-year period
• Assess and identify the support services that are essential or beneficial to be in proximity with some types of housing, or the impact of these services on home care and long-term care
• Assess, identify and project affordable housing supply and demand for the next 10-ears
• Recommend housing strategies for future development to address the identified anticipated unmet housing needs
• A summary and recommendations related to funding opportunities, grant capital, and innovative development and delivery models is also expected
- Housing needs assessment and the housing strategy are expected to provide essential guidance in the following housing types:
• Affordable and inclusive
• Student – full-time, part-time, short-term
• Visiting professional
• Dense rental
• Urban densification of current housing.
