The vendor required to provide public property for a period of five (5) years in connection with the maintenance and repair of bus shelters.
- Responsibilities
1. Shelter structures
• Responsible for any general maintenance required on the shelters.
• This includes, but is not limited to:
o Replacement of broken glass
o Removal of graffiti
o Repair of benches
o Repair of advertising panels
• The township will only be responsible for shelter installation and replacement; this includes installation, maintenance, and repair of concrete slabs.
2. Trash bins
• Provide trash bins for refuse subject to any required permits or approvals from agency and removal of all trash from all receptacles from all locations at minimum of one time per week, with adjustments made where necessary.
3. Maintenance of structures
• Maintenance of shelters, including overall cleanliness, free of vandalism, ice and snow removal, lighting and advertising (all subject to agency approval).
• Cleaning of bus shelters shall be quarterly, at a minimum with quarterly reports provided to the township administration regarding the condition of each site.
• Any safety related issues must be addressed within 24 hours.
o Snow and ice removal to be done within 24 hours of snow fall over 3” on the ground.
o Contractor will address icing and slippery conditions as needed with snowfall under 3” on the ground in an expedited manner
o Snow and ice removal will take place inside of the shelter, the full width in front of the shelter, and the contractor will provide up to a 5ft walkway on the approaches to the shelter.
o Ice melting will be performed as needed regardless of snow accumulation.
o Removal of snow and ice physically on the shelter will not be required except where there is a concern for injury to the public.
o During snow removal operations the contractor must keep the director (or their designee) appraised of the contractor’s snow removal operation.
o Provide current contact of person responsible for maintenance and contact information to be updated as required.
o Conditions which affect the free and safe passage of commuters shall be addressed on an expedited basis.
