The Vendor is required to provide investment management services for a portion of the City’s fixed income portfolio.
- Manage a separate investment portfolio of up to $300 million of the City’s general investment portfolio. It is expected that the amount of assets under management will increase as current City investments mature and it is determined that the funds are not immediately needed to meet the operating cash requirements of the City.
- Provide investment consulting services to the City Treasurer who will maintain responsibility for managing the remainder of the city’s investment portfolio.
- Work with the City’s Investment Consultant to ensure specific targets and goals are maintained
- This includes about $800 million in general investments and $100 million for investment of unspent bond proceeds.
- The City Treasurer is responsible for the day-to-day investment activities for the City.
- The City Treasurer meets regularly with an Investment Committee to discuss investment strategy, recent investments, interest forecasts, etc.
- At this time, the members of the Investment Committee are the City’s Finance Director, Assistant Finance Director and Finance Manager-Accounts and Audits.
- The City currently utilizes the services of two professional investment firms to assist the City Treasurer in managing the City’s investment portfolio.
