The Vendor is required to provide computer-aided dispatch and automatic vehicle location (CAD/AVL) system for the transit system solution is to enhance operational efficiency, automate dispatch functions, and contribute to customer service efforts.
- Solutions should integrate with current integrational centers and feed into our current rider facing application.
• Real-time vehicle tracking using GPS with frequent intervals of refresh.
• Automated dispatch functionality, including route and vehicle assignment and operator management.
• Web-based user interface for dispatchers, supervisors and administrators - software for operator-facing mobile device or tablet for route assignment information, including real-time schedule adherence.
• Data reporting and analytics tools for ridership, on-time performance, vehicle and system history, and other operational metrics and KPI’s.
• Data reporting features should support national transit database (NTD) reporting.
• Ability for staff to adjust route alignments and schedules as permanent changes or as temporary detours and service adjustments.
• Indicate if your solution offers this as a service provided in addition to end-user managed.
• Incorporation of operator panic button to covertly alert dispatch to safety or security threat (distress signal).
- Fixed-route services operate 7 days per week most of the year and bus routes and schedules are updated in alignment with the university academic calendar.
- Fixed-route services operate from 4:20 a.m. to 1 a.m.
- The anticipated initial purchase would include the necessary hardware to support:
• 29 – 40’ heavy-duty buses fully deployed.
• 3 – 30’ heavy-duty buses fully deployed.
• 7 – 30’ minibuses with GPS tracking only.
• 2 support vehicles (a minivan and pick-up truck) with GPS tracking only.
