The vendor is required to provide armed security guard services for parking lot area.
- Security guards shall protect the agency and individuals from, at minimum, physical harm to person and body, verbal abuse and harassment, threats and acts of violence, fire, theft, vandalism and intentional damage and trespassing.
- Available twenty-four (24) hours per day, seven (7) days per week, including holidays.
- Have a dispatch center twenty-four (24) hours, seven (7) days per week, including holidays.
- Familiar with and knowledgeable of agency parking security procedures.
- Utilize as needed all emergency phone numbers of local first responders including, at minimum, peace officers, paramedics, firefighters, detention officers, county jailers, or emergency medical service employees.
- Provide and maintain a daily activity report.
- Report shall include, at minimum, all routine and non-routine security checks and all activity that is considered unusual or disruptive.
- When requested by the agency, contractor shall provide additional security guards when agency requires more than one (1) security guard per service location in order to guarantee uninterrupted coverage at agency facility.
- If one (1) on-duty security guard is required at a service location and must leave his/her post for any reason, the contractor shall provide a replacement security guard on-site within two (2) hours.
- Security guards shall remain alert and aware of surroundings and activity at all times.
- Security guard shall make eye contact and acknowledge agency staff and visitors to demonstrate presence and awareness.
- Security guard shall not visit or socialize with agency staff and visitors or allow any unnecessary distractions that may prevent the guard’s full attention to the assigned duties.
- Security guard shall refer all visitor inquiries to the agency receptionist or front desk personnel.
- Security guard shall remain within proximity of the security station, except when performing routine site monitoring duties.
- Security guard shall notify agency designee prior to leaving security station and provide purpose of departure.
- All departures from security station shall be recorded on daily activity report including, at minimum, time, and purpose for departure.
- Upon agency request, contractor security guard may be asked to perform additional security duties as mutually agreed upon by the contractor and agency on an as needed basis, such as escorting agency staff to their vehicles.
- Security guard shall prevent unauthorized individuals from entering restricted areas.
- Shall work closely with local law enforcement authorities and agencies.
- Security guard shall be authorized and expected to call 911 for emergency assistance when imminent risk is present to any persons, or when the contractor security guard is unable to gain control of a situation quickly and safely.
- Security guard shall assist, as requested by agency staff, if any persons are disruptive while on agency designated parking lot.
- Should a conflict occur between agency staff and any individual, the contractor security guard shall make his/her presence known and visible to diffuse the situation.
- If further action is required, contractor security guard shall escort and remove unauthorized and disruptive individual from the building and prevent reentry to building.
- Security guard shall call 911 as warranted by each situation.
- If 911 is called, the contractor security guard shall notify the agency emergency contacts as soon as the situation permits.
- Security guard shall document all incidents, in detail, in the daily activity report as soon as it is reasonably possible and submit to agency within twenty-four (24) hours.
- Emergency agency contacts shall be provided to the awarded contractor after the contract has been awarded.
- Shall consider all matters pertaining to services performed for or at service locations confidential.
- Violation of confidentiality may result in contract termination.
- Security guard shall not discuss or divulge agency policy or procedure to any visitors on agency site, unauthorized contractor personnel or any person outside the agency.
- Security guard shall not discuss, divulge, or share security incidents that occurred at any agency location with unauthorized persons.
- Security guard use of agency technological equipment, e.g., telephones, computers, multifunction printers, and other state-owned equipment, shall be prohibited unless authorized by agency designee prior to use.
- Misuse of equipment may lead to contract termination.
- Agency permission shall be granted for emergency and agency business-related calls only.
- If contractor security guard is permitted to use the agency telephone, only local calls shall be permitted; long distance calls and collect calls are prohibited.
- Security guard shall carry a fully charged and working cell phone, provided by contractor, while on duty at agency location.
- While on duty at agency service location, contractor security guard shall not perform any work that is outside the scope of the awarded contract.
