The Vendor is required to provide security services of inclusion, respect, and learner success, as outlined in the launch, advance, and evolve strategic plan.
- Security personnel are expected to actively contribute to a campus environment that is safe, welcoming, and inclusive for college’s diverse learners, employees, and community members.
- The provider must also ensure staff are aware and trained on the Indigenous student experience, including cultural safety, anti-racism practices, and inclusion of Indigenous ways of knowing, being, doing, and relating.
- This is managed under the security program and includes recording each locker's serial number and placing locks on each locker prior to each new semester and removing the locks for rotation at the end of each semester.
- Security is responsible for emptying and tagging any lockers with property left behind, managing communications regarding lockers and locker rentals throughout the year, and assisting students as needed.
- It is expected that the contracted security site supervisor and assigned guards dedicate several hours before the first week of each semester to rotate the locks on all the lockers in campus and enter the applicable lock data into the web-based system.
- Currently has over 340 interior and exterior cameras in/on the three buildings.
- Provide all labour, equipment, including portable radio system, dispatcher desk radio, materials, supplies, supervision, and oversight to perform services under the agreement.
- An adequate supply of portable patrol guard radios with belt pouches and shoulder microphones will be required, as every assigned guard will carry them.
- College employees have physical access/ID cards that give them access to the exterior doors of the campus as well as into the areas that they require within the campus.
- They will have a choice of a physical card or a digital one.
- Students do not have access to the exterior doors; however, some students will have interior door access to certain spaces, i.e., center for entertainment arts or the esports arena, on their one card on their phone (not on a physical card), if they are registered in those programs.
