The Vendor is required to provide on-site, unarmed, uniformed, licensed security professional services (“services”) with buildings, properties or locations owned, rented, leased or otherwise under the control of university.
- Provide general safety and security to a specified building and occupants, discourage unauthorized entry into premises, and deter the theft and destruction of property.
- Services to be provided by Contractor include, but are not limited to:
• Control access, check badges, facilitate the notification for removal of unauthorized persons, and act to detect, deter, and take reasonable measures to prevent the consequences of theft, criminal mischief, criminal trespass, and vandalism.
• Facilitate the identification for removal of persons who because of mental condition or intoxication represent a threat to the safety themselves or others;
• Provide professional fire watch and sweep areas for unsafe situations;
• Escort visitors and staff on or off property when requested;
• Assist responding law enforcement (e.g. District), fire or emergency services as needed.
• Preserve order, protect persons and property and facilitate adherence to rules and regulations established by university concerning safety and security.
• Perform additional duties related to building security as agreed upon by both parties.
- Security professionals must be fingerprinted for the purposes of a background check at the
Contractor’s expense.
- Security professional(s) shall have customer relations training, positive customer/client interface skills to provide welcoming, non-threatening interaction with university students, staff, faculty and visitors.
- Security professional(s) shall have de-escalation training to learn how to deal with combative persons, persons under the influence of alcohol and drugs, and persons suspected to have a mental condition that represents a threat to their safety or others.
- Security professional(s) are expected to respond to the public in a respectable and courteous manner.
