The vendor is required to provide public safety answering points in-person cybersecurity training events tailored for public safety answering point (PSAP) staff, specifically public safety telecommunicators (PSTS) and PSAP information technology (IT) staff.
- Public safety telecommunicators (PSTS) and PSAP IT professionals with knowledge and increased awareness on the following:
• Cybersecurity foundations: introduce core cybersecurity principles, public-safety challenges, national emergency number association (NENA) standards, and the purpose of organized practices.
• Threat awareness for PSAPS: build awareness of cybersecurity threats to 911 systems through real-world case studies and interactive sessions, covering risks such as swatting, t-dos, and social engineering.
• Exploitation prevention: address common cyber threats including phishing, malware, ransomware, and drive-by attacks, while promoting device hygiene and essential security practices like upgrades and patching.
• Technical knowledge and practical application: equip participants with hands-on understanding of cybersecurity concepts and tools, enabling them to apply technical skills directly to public safety environments.
• Incident response planning: support the development of incident response plans to facilitate cyber incident tracking, knowledge sharing, and reporting.
• Ng911 risk mitigation: explore emerging cybersecurity risks specific to ng911 systems and identify appropriate safeguards.
• Participant engagement and learning: encourage feedback and measure knowledge retention. strengthen relationships and clarify roles between public safety telecommunicators (PSTS) and IT professionals.
• Skill building and preparedness: provide opportunities for participants to seek clarification, share insights, and discuss key topics.
• Ability to identify and mitigate cyberattacks, improve incident response readiness, and reinforce protection of critical public safety data and systems.
