The Vendor is required to provide unarmed security guard coverage for the courthouse during specified portions of the court's daily hours of operation.
- Security guard services will be for the total number of hours required to meet requested hours of coverage each week.
- Only qualified, licensed, bonded, insured and experienced Security Service Companies will be considered for the work. Security Guards shall be experienced, licensed and bonded.
- Screen visitors and belongings using approved security equipment.
- Maintain a safe environment for courthouse employees and visitors.
- Must be able to handle any situation with tact and diplomacy whether with courthouse employees or visitors.
- Guards should remain on the premises until after all visitors have vacated the premises upon closing.
- Guards should be trained to discern and de-escalate potentially volatile situations and intervene to prevent problems
- Guards should monitor the premises for suspicious activity or safety hazards.
- Guards should respond promptly and appropriately to security incidents, disturbances, and/or emergencies.
- Guards should be able to detain individuals when legally authorized and coordinate with law enforcement as required.
- Assist with emergency evacuations, lockdowns, or shelter in place procedures.
- Guards shall safeguard the site against unauthorized entry or exit.
- Guards shall safeguard equipment, materials and other property against damage, theft, loss and unauthorized use.
- Guards shall be required to patrol their assigned branches, inside and outside to maintain a secure and safe environment.
- Guards shall maintain accurate and thorough records, including trip and fall incident reports.
- Guards shall present an approachable and helpful attitude toward the public to the greatest extent possible.
- Guards shall participate in required training, drills, and briefings.
