The Vendor is required to provide safety and security services.
- Armed safety and security officer(s) as needed for district-related events, including but not limited to:
• Athletic events
• School board meetings
• School-sponsored club events (choir concerts, theater plays, etc.)
• Other events/meetings, as assigned
• Necessary campus security
- Have or obtain a school-based law enforcement certificate.
- Have no felony convictions and no convictions of any crimes involving the illegal use of weapons.
- Be mentally competent.
- Complete drug testing pre-employment, randomly, and immediately upon request by district administration.
- Employee Duties:
• Protecting the safety and welfare of any person in the security personnel’s jurisdiction.
• Protecting the property of the school district.
• Providing presence in high volume areas.
• Participating in district and/or campus level training on emergency response protocols.
• Performing routine patrols in and around the premises at which the district -related event is taking place, as outlined by district.
• Monitoring the exterior of the premise at which the district -related event is taking place, and assisting staff with the arrival and departure of students, when applicable.
• Operating metal detectors and conducting searches and screening based on detector alerts, when applicable.
• Monitoring the premise at which the district -related event is taking place for unauthorized or suspicious vehicles and individuals.
• Reporting criminal activity to the proper authorities.
• Conducting safety sweeps around the premises as directed by district.
• Protecting district property from theft, damage, arson, sabotage, vandalism, and other similar acts.
• Providing written feedback regarding any safety or security issues to highest authority most appropriate, such as the campus principal, event designee or keeper of the premise at which the district -related event is taking place
• Maintaining reports, observations, and audits as directed by supervisors and district administrators.
• Communicating courteously with staff, students, parents, and district visitors.
• Communicating and coordinating with local law enforcement as needed.
• Ensuring the premise at which the district -related event is taking place is secured at the end of the event.
- Must provide all on-site employees/contractors with training as required to fulfill all requirements of current and future local, state, and Federal law related to contracted security personnel working on school campuses.
