The Vendor is required to provide emergency armed and unarmed security guard services for include:
• Security guards must be licensed to carry a firearm according to state regulations and have at least one (1) year of documented experience in the security industry.
• The security guard should be fluent in English and able to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
• No security guard shall be paid for over-time duty or for days that the offices are closed for official state holidays.
• Security guards will report on time, in uniform at all times while on duty, oriented to security duties, properly instructed, supervised and with completed background checks.
• The security guard shall report to the appointed commission authorized representative for each site assigned
• The security guard will limit telephone calls to emergency and official business use only.
• Security guard shall be given a thirty-minute (30) minute lunch to be taken at different times each day between the hours of 11:30am to 1:30pm.
• The security guard shall notify commission prior to leaving post for lunch.
• Security guard, after informing appropriate staff, may take a fifteen (15) minute break during the first half of their shift and a fifteen (15) minute break during the last half of their shift.
• The security guard will notify the commission authorized representative should it become necessary to leave the security station for reasons other than conducting rounds or responding to a security emergency.
• The security guard shall at no time leave the designated premises while on assigned duty without an approved replacement being present.
• The security guard shall address any person who is continuously loud or boisterous in an office to refrain from such action or escort those individuals from the premises.
• The security guard will not engage in conversations with clients and employees and will not give any policy and office procedures information to clients.
• The security guard will check all interior areas of leased space before going off duty to ascertain if any staff and clients remain in the building.
• All security guards shall be thoroughly familiar with health and human services commission building security.
