The Vendor is required to provide armed and unarmed security guard services for center.
- Service requirements
• Security guards shall report on time, in uniform, oriented to security duties, properly instructed, and supervised.
• No security guard will be allowed to be on the premises without a completed tips (treatment, invention and prevention strategies) program.
• Prior to the initial shift the security guard must be certified, licensed, qualified and have completed tips.
- Provide the following services:
• Security guard shall at no time leave the designated premises while on assigned duty.
• Guard the facilities against fire, theft, damage, vandalism, and trespassing.
• Security guard shall call 911 and notify the commission support services director or designee if these acts should occur.
• No security guard shall be paid for overtime
• If the security guard will be in overtime status, the contractor shall provide a security guard who is not in overtime.
• In the event that the security guard is unable to report for duty, the contractor shall provide another security guard as their back-up.
• The security guard shall make rounds on foot of the exterior building premises every two (2) hours depending on hospital admissions.
• No security guard shall perform office work or any other work pertaining to commission other than those services for which the security guard has contracted to perform.
• The security guard shall check all interior areas of contracted space before going off duty to ascertain if any security risks or situations are detected.
• Security guard shall also check with the commission support services director or designee to determine if there are any additional security concerns needing to be addressed before leaving.
• The security guard shall record on an agency approved security activity report form, a daily account of routine activities and observations.
• The security guard shall be thoroughly familiar with the operation and control of all building life safety system, such as but not limited to, fire alarms, building life safety system, telephone system, and access and intrusion alarm systems.
• The security guard shall check identification of all persons entering the building during and after normal business hours and on weekends.
• The security guard shall be attentive at all times.
• Guard must, at a minimum, make eye contact with all visitors and staff.
• The security guard shall not visit, make personal phone calls, read, or otherwise be distracted while on duty.
• Security guard, after informing appropriate staff, may take a fifteen (15) minute break during the first half of his shift and a fifteen (15) minute break during the last half of his shift.
• The security guard may be requested to escort employees to their cars if requested.
• The security guard shall make random rounds to ensure the safety of personnel, vehicles, and property in the parking areas of the buildings and as described elsewhere in this document.
• The security guard shall assist handicapped staff and visitors when entering and existing the building and when using the elevators.
• The security guard may assist in checking and turning on/off designated lights at designated times of the day.
• The security guard shall permit only authorized persons to enter restricted areas of the premises.
• The security guard will be able to determine authorized persons by an employee badge.
