The Vendor is required to provide mechanical aquatic vegetation shredding services on district-managed properties.
- Work activities may include, but are not limited to:
• Mobilization and demobilization to district properties.
• Coordination with district staff regarding site access, staging, and scheduling.
• Mechanical shredding of aquatic vegetation within assigned treatment zones.
• Daily communication with the district site manager or district.
• Submission of GPS track logs documenting completed work areas.
- Heavy-duty shredding equipment
• Hydraulically powered rotating blades capable of shredding floating vegetation, tussocks, and tree islands into a consistent layer of mulched fragments
• Cutting head not less than ten (10) feet in width c) power source producing a minimum of four hundred (400) horsepower at the blades d) capability to operate in static and flowing water
• Capability to operate in water depths as shallow as twenty-four (24) inches
• Ability to perform effectively in shallow shoreline areas and beneath obstructions such as tree limbs and bridges
- Light-duty shredding equipment
• Light-duty shredding equipment shall consist of smaller, lower-horsepower machinery suitable for limited-access areas and projects not requiring heavy mobilization.
• Equipment shall be capable of effectively shredding floating vegetation and shoreline growth in shallow water conditions.
