• Automatic fire pumps-regular visual checks of pump components, including valves, gauge readings, fuel/oil levels, electrical systems, ventilation, and heating, are essential.
• Fire sprinkler systems annual inspection.
• This ensures fire sprinkler systems are functional and compliant with standards like national fire protection association (“NFPA”) NFPA 25.
o Wet pipe sprinkler systems-verification of system functionality, including flow tests, valve tests, and pressure checks to confirm proper operation.
o Dry pipe systems-visual inspections of pipes and fittings, main drain tests to verify valve function, and inspections of components like air compressors and water level alarms.
o Pre-action systems-the focus is on pre-action systems, a type of fire suppression system that uses a pre-action valve to control the flow of water until a fire is detected.
o Deluge system-regularly checking the system for leaks, damage, and proper functionality.
• Fire pump testing-fire pump testing typically involves various procedures, including flow tests, pressure relief valve checks, and verification of pump performance against nameplate data.
• Fire detection and alarm systems-proposers are required to offer a complete package of services for fire suppression systems at designated city facilities, specifically focusing on fire detection and alarm systems.
• This includes comprehensive inspections, testing, maintenance, repairs, and replacements to ensure these systems are functioning properly.

o This includes monitoring co2 concentrations at different heights to ensure safe re-entry after a fire.
o Additionally, the system's components, such as cylinders, control systems, and alarms, are also checked.
o Commercial cooking fire suppression systems.
o Thorough inspections of all components of the commercial cooking fire suppression system, including nozzles, piping, and control panels, to ensure proper functionality and safety.
• Type of extinguishers currently used by the city

o Class b are for use on flammable liquids like grease, gasoline and oil
o Class c are suitable for use only on electrically energized fires
o Carbon dioxide extinguish fire by taking away the oxygen element of the fire triangle and also removing the heat with a very cold discharge
o Class k have certain similarities to class b fires, those fueled by petroleum products, due to the fact that they both involve flammable liquids
o Dry chemical, extinguish the fire primarily by interrupting the chemical reaction of the fire triangle.
