The Vendor is required to provide the fabrication, installation, and maintenance of light emitting diode (LED) illuminated street name signs on an as-needed basis.
- The fabrication and installation of new LED street name signs, replacement of existing sign faces, and a range of ancillary services such as mounting hardware, welding, and retrofitting.
- Core services
• Fabricate and install new LED illuminated street name signs in accordance with the design and material specifications provided herein.
• Fabricate and replace existing sign faces with new sign panels that meet the required visibility and durability standards.
• Provide all necessary labor, materials, and hardware to perform related work, including but not limited to sign cabinet production, LED integration, and structural support.
- Ancillary services
• Crane truck services – provide crane truck with operator for lifting and placement tasks involving signs or poles.
• Bucket truck services – provide bucket truck with certified operator for elevated work on traffic signal infrastructure.
• Electrician labor – journeyman – provide journeyman-level electrician with IMSA level ii certification.
• Electrician labor – helper – provide electrician’s helper to assist with installations under journeyman supervision.
• Mounting hardware – furnish and install mounting brackets, adapters, and other required components.
• LED conversion kits – supply and install retrofit kits for upgrading existing signs to LED illumination.
• New sign install with weld mounts – perform welding for structural mounting of new signs by Aws-certified welders.
• Rework of existing sign cabinets – weld repairs – modify or repair sign cabinets using welds and protective finishes.
• Tach weld with mx brackets – perform tach welds with mx brackets for retrofitting or reinforcing sign mounts.

- Materials
• Fabricate aluminum sign frames slightly larger than sign face dimensions.
• Integrate LED fixtures within the frame for internal illumination.
• Include one or two sign faces per order, as required.
• Use 3/16" translucent white Lexan, 3m dg3 reflective sheeting series 4090t, and 3m 1177c EC film.
• Follow manufacturer-recommended fabrication procedures.
• Provide G.E. LED products or approved equivalents.
- Sign design
• Include street name, block number with direction, and city of phoenix logo.
• Utilize city-provided design files in Gerber omega or Gerber graphics advantage format.
• Use ClearviewHwy TrueType font.
• Apply green EC film background with white lettering, logos, and borders.
- Sign fabrication and assembly process
• Apply sheeting and EC film using manufacturer-approved methods.
• Use squeeze roll applicators with 60–80 psi pressure (no soap and water).
• Construct water-resistant rectangular cabinets with weep holes and clean finishes.
• Match city signage in measurements and aesthetics.
• Submit shop drawings with offer.
• Provide artwork and design for sign faces.
• Produce and submit a working prototype for city review and approval prior to production.
• Provide all mounting hardware for pole types
• Integrate LED lighting operating on 120/240v.
• Include dusk-to-dawn photoelectric switch (sun tech ell-8258 or approved equal).
• Angle sign face and provide shielding overhang to minimize glare.
• Paint cabinet with polyurethane or equivalent per city specs.
• Design cabinets for easy maintenance with top-hinged doors and prop rods.
- Sign installation
• Provide IMSA 19-1, 3-conductor, #14 stranded cable for sign power.
• Locate and mount junction boxes per traffic signal engineer direction.
• Ensure wiring separation from traffic signal cabling.
• Install signs on designated pole types using approved methods.
• Obtain structural approval from state licensed structural engineer.
