The vendor is required to provide to refurbish 138 existing wayfinding signs and install 19 new (replacement) wayfinding signs, the locations.
- Exposure to the elements (constant sun, water and salt) has caused the signs to become worn, faded and corroded; and are quickly becoming an eyesore.
- In some cases, signs are damaged with bent or cracked frames.
- Therefore, the city intends to move forward with a comprehensive wayfinding sign upgrade project.
- The city’s anticipated budget range for this project is between $250,000 and $300,000.
- All sign refurbishment work shall be completed prior to beginning sign replacement work.
- Refurbish each sign type shall include all labor, materials and equipment necessary to remove the existing sign from its foundation, remove paint completely (sandblast if necessary), repair frame if necessary, paint the existing frame as per specification provided herein, remove existing aluminum sign faces and replace with new painted aluminum sign faces with reflective vinyl graphics as per the specification included herein, as well as reinstall the refurbished sign onto its existing foundation.
- Some signs will need revised graphics, which will be specified by the city.
- In cases where the sign cannot be removed from its foundation, the price bid shall include cutting the anchor bolts to enable sign removal.
