The Vendor is required to provide vehicle graphics, manufacturing and installation decals, lettering, replacement graphics, specialty vehicle graphics, or related services.
- General requirements
• The official graphics artwork to the contractor following contract award.
• Maintain the confidentiality of all artwork and graphics furnished by the city, shall not reproduce, distribute, publish, or disclose such materials except as necessary to perform the contract, shall safeguard all electronic and hard-copy files, and shall return or destroy all artwork upon the city's request or upon contract completion, except as otherwise required by law.
• Routine installations for vehicles delivered by 8:00 a.m. Shall be completed by the close of the same business day unless otherwise approved by the city.
• Outdoor overnight storage shall not be permitted.
• Following receipt of the city's artwork, the contractor shall provide a digital proof of the complete graphics package for the city's written approval prior to commencing production. Production shall not begin until written approval has been received.
- Quality standards
• Installation shall be free of wrinkles, bubbles, lifting edges, tears, misalignment, and other defects.
• Graphics shall match the approved proof
• Graphics shall not interfere with vehicle safety equipment, emergency lighting, cameras, sensors, antennas, legally required decals, manufacturer safety labels, or vehicle identification labels.
• Defective or nonconforming graphics shall be removed and replaced at no cost to the city. Any damage to painted surfaces caused by installation or removal shall be repaired by the contractor.
• Vehicle shall be returned clean and free of adhesive residue, fingerprints, debris, and installation materials.
- Vehicle graphics layout
• Hood: install "Columbia police" centered above the grille on the hood lip.
• Front wheel wells: install four-digit vehicle number and small American flag.
• Front doors: install official shoulder patch.
• Front and rear doors: install reflective "Columbia police".
• Rear tailgate: install reflective "police" centered beneath the license plate.
• Rear tailgate: install "911 emergency" and "311 non-emergency" on opposite sides of the license plate.
• Roof: install the reflective four-digit vehicle number centered, oriented for aerial viewing, as large as practical while maintaining clearance from roof equipment.
