Signage Services

Signage Services include the design, manufacture, supply, installation, modification, replacement, and removal of interior and exterior signage throughout Western University facilities and campus. Services include permanent and temporary signage that supports wayfinding, building identification, room identification, regulatory compliance, accessibility, safety, and University branding.
Western University Facilities Management will initiate, coordinate, provide oversight, and administer the work.
Signage Services may include, but are not limited to:
- Signage Design
• Develop signage layouts and designs in accordance with Western University branding and wayfinding standards.
• Prepare shop drawings, layouts, and artwork for review and approval.
• Verify existing site conditions and dimensions prior to fabrication.
• Coordinate signage locations with building layouts and architectural features.
- Signage Fabrication
• Manufacture interior and exterior signage using materials suitable for the intended application and environment.
• Fabricate directional, wayfinding, room identification, donor recognition, safety, regulatory, parking, and informational signage.
• Produce custom signage where required.
• Supply all mounting hardware, accessories, and attachment systems.
- Signage Installation
• Install new signage.
• Remove, relocate, modify, or replace existing signage.
• Install temporary construction, directional, or operational signage where required.
• Patch and repair surfaces affected by sign removal or replacement where specified.
• Coordinate installation to minimize disruption to building occupants and campus operations.
- Accessibility and Wayfinding
• Provide tactile, Braille, and accessible signage where required.
• Install signage that supports accessible routes and building navigation.
• Ensure consistency with approved campus wayfinding systems.
- Associated Work
• Field verification of locations and dimensions.
• Coordination with other trades where required.
• Protection of adjacent finishes during installation.
• Disposal or recycling of removed signage where directed by the University.
