The Vendor is required to provide standardized, medically validated patient education materials that interface with our EHR, epic, for use in ancillary, inpatient, ambulatory, emergency, dental, and procedural settings.
- Content Development:
• Patient-specific education materials tailored to various medical conditions (e.g., post-surgery, chronic illness, mental health) and specialties (e.g. Endocrinology, surgery, neurology, cardiology, rheumatology, urology, orthopedics, hand surgery).
• Checklists for medications, follow-up appointments, and care plans.
• Visual aids and diagrams illustrating essential recovery processes.
• Multilingual materials to support diverse patient populations, ensuring at least English and Spanish are included.
• Easy to understand language to meet health literacy standards
- Educational Formats:
• Printed materials, including brochures and flyers.
• Digital versions for mobile access and web platforms, with accessibility for people with disabilities as shown by compliance with WCAG 2.0a and AA standards.
• Interactive and engaging educational sessions or workshops (in-person or virtual) aimed at enhancing understanding that is easy to update.
• Targeted, proactive outreach campaigns to support population health initiative and drive patients to engage with the health system, e.g., connecting to scheduling, etc.
- Compliance:
• Adherence to the commission standards for patient education.
• Compliance with the health insurance portability and accountability act (HIPAA) for privacy and data protection.
• Materials must reflect the latest clinical guidelines from relevant medical associations.
- Patient Engagement:
• Feedback mechanisms to evaluate the effectiveness of education offered to patients.
• Incorporation of patient testimonials and case studies in educational materials.
• Tools for measuring patient comprehension and retention of information.
• Two-way communication programs and automated interactions, supporting patients at the right time
- Data Analytics
• Deep reporting and analytics to drive optimization and track ROI
• Real-time patient status updates to identify patients who need additional services or interventions
- Integration and efficiency
• Support optimal integration across entire health system
• Automation capabilities like discharge messages, scheduling events, population segmentation
• Ability to incorporate ‘checklist’ materials as recommendations to ensure standardized content is delivered.
