The Vendor is required to provide to pre-qualify the services of executive recruitment firm(s) to assist with the process of selecting executive officer level positions on an as required basis.
- Services may include, but are not limited to, stakeholder engagement, marketing and outreach strategies, candidate sourcing, coordinating interviews and selection process, social media screening and assessments, as required.
- The services will include leading the candidate search process, candidate credential verification, social media review and facilitation of the candidate interview process.
- Obtain cost effective and professional executive recruitment services that provide qualified candidates for executive level and senior leadership searches, and deliver on university commitment to employment diversity and equity by actively and strategically sourcing qualified candidates who represent Indigenous people, persons living with a disability, sexual and gender minorities, women, and members of all minority groups.
- Executive officer or delegated executive officer:
• Select members of the search committee, in accordance with university policy.
• Approve the overall recruitment budget.
• Engage an executive recruitment firm, with preference given to suppliers on university qualified roster list.
• Lead a visioning exercise to articulate the institutional direction and develop ideal candidate profiles.
• Select the final candidate for the position.
• Finalize the employment contract and compensation package.
- Executive Recruitment Firm:
• Advise and support the executive officer or delegate and the search committee throughout the search process.
• Provide ongoing updates on search progress and milestones.
• Ensure firm staff are trained and supported in applying best practices related to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
• Assist in defining the role of the search committee and in developing both institutional and candidate profiles, in collaboration with the executive officer and human resources.
• Manage stakeholder engagement related to candidate profile development.
• Ensure appropriate accommodations are made available for candidates throughout all phases of the selection process.
• Identify prospective candidates based on established criteria from the executive officer and search committee.
• Advertise the position through a wide range of local, regional, and national channels, including journals, publications, and relevant online platforms.
• Proactively reach out to qualified individuals and encourage applications.
• Promote applications from candidates representing diverse backgrounds, and ensure no discrimination occurs on the basis of protected grounds.
• Screen applications and conduct preliminary interviews to assess candidate strengths, alignment with institutional values, and overall fit.
• Prepare a list of recommended candidates with a written summary for each and present it to the search committee.
• Support the search committee in evaluating candidates and selecting those to be interviewed.
• Collaborate with the search committee to design the interview process and develop interview questions.
• Prepare the search committee for candidate interviews.
• Coordinate and participate in all candidate interviews.
• Conduct comprehensive reference checks, including 360-degree feedback and credential verification.
• Notify unsuccessful candidates and offer constructive feedback where appropriate.
