Relative and Fictive Kin Recruitment Services

The Vendor is required to provide relatives and fictive kin search and engagement services for children and youth residing in non-relative home-based care in each of the department.
- Partners in the network send and receive closed-loop, secure, electronic referrals across multiple sectors and organizations through the shared Unite Us platform.
- The platform enables providers to track every person’s total health journey and report on tangible outcomes.
- Expand the efforts to find safe, appropriate relative supports for children in foster care.
- Increase the likelihood that children who cannot return home achieve permanency through kinship care.
- Increase the possibility that sibling groups can be placed in the same home and cared for by kinship foster parents.
- Increase the likelihood that children who enter foster care are placed with relatives and fictive kin in close proximity to their home communities in order to support regular contact with parents to support family reunification.
- Increase the possibility of children placed in family-based settings with respect to their identity, ethnicity, race, and culture.
- Expand the efforts to find safe, appropriate adult relative or non-relative connections for youth that are not open to adoption, not available to be adopted, or who are aging out of care.
- Identify at least eighty (80) relatives or fictive kin per youth;
- Identify an average of 150 relatives over the history of cases.
- Place 70% of children with relatives/kin within 180 of the Stakeholder meeting or by case closure.
- Assist in collecting information from relatives/kin to expand the child’s support system and family connections, while identifying potential relative home providers.
- Attend all meetings and court hearings, advocating for relative/fictive kin placement.
