The Vendor is required to provide consulting services for a search for an interim superintendent.
- Requirement:
• Engage staff, students, and the community to inform the development of a candidate profile, for board consideration and adoption that reflects the district’s goals and identifies the leadership characteristics necessary for success.
• Demonstrate a candidate identification strategy that results in a diverse pool of experienced, highly qualified candidates, including individuals with experience in districts of similar size, demographics, and community context.
• Advice the board on a competitive compensation package designed to attract and secure a highly qualified interim superintendent.
• Solicit applications from candidates serving in state and regionally.
• Develop, for board approval, hiring procedures to be used for the position.
• Advise the board regarding the identification and assessment of candidates.
o Develop and distribute recruitment materials that will encourage qualified candidates to apply
o Engage the current acting superintendent in the recruitment process (if not a candidate).
o Conduct a search that will include advertising the position broadly in print media as well as through an effective web-based strategy
o Conduct personal outreach recruiting to ensure that the applicant pool includes highly qualified candidates with diverse backgrounds and experiences
o Collect all relevant background information on potential candidates so that the strengths and weaknesses of each applicant can be assessed
o Assist the board with prescreening candidates based on clearly delineated criteria
o Assist the board in evaluating the applicants against the qualifications and criteria developed to create a group of candidates for interviews
o Assist the board with reference and related background checks
• Assist with logistics of finalist interviews
o Assist the board in determining the process (public, closed, or hybrid) that will secure the best pool of finalist candidates
o Potentially, facilitate visits by the board to the communities of the finalists
o Potentially, facilitate community forums and interviews with the finalists
• Ensure a satisfactory conclusion to the search
o Assist the board in contract negotiations with the selected candidates.
