The Vendor is required to provide executive search consulting services for include:
• In conjunction with the board, develop a timeline for the recruitment and selection of a superintendent
• Inform all the stakeholders of milestones in the process.
• Establish a profile of the desired candidate and criteria for the selection (for initial search) and final or comprehensive criteria (for the final candidates).
• This profile and criteria should be based on feedback from community and stakeholder surveys, including but not limited to staff, families, and students
• Develop a marketing plan for the recruitment and selection of a superintendent
• Identify and recruit qualified candidates for the position of superintendent from throughout the nation with a proven history of academic success.
• Conduct all aspects of the recruitment process, including the development of a marketing plan, to ensure that qualified individuals apply for the position; advertise and recruit for the position utilizing newspapers, professional journals, institutional placement agencies, and contact with potential candidates throughout the nation, including locally, and using a variety of means.
• Upon identification of potential qualified candidates, discuss with these candidates the characteristics of school profile and the criteria of the superintendent, and encourage qualified candidates to apply.
• Obtain all relevant background information, including conducting background checks, on the potential candidates to allow full assessment of the strengths and weaknesses of each candidate.
• The specific background check will be in accordance with school hiring policies
• Screen applicants using criteria and conduct a thorough validation of the qualifications of the finalist.
• Present procedures for conducting personal background checks, including the depth of verification.
• Coordinate the meetings of the school board and advise the school board as necessary.
• Provide methods describing how the firm proposes to assist the school board in narrowing the field of candidates.
• Develop interview questions and process for finalists
• Provide a list of finalists, along with a brief profile, to the board.
• Present procedures for advising the board on salary and benefit expectations of the leading candidates.
• Send letters of confirmation and regret.
• Maintain confidentiality of all information provided or maintained by the consultant in rendering services to schools.
• Ensure a smooth start via a transition meeting with the new superintendent and representatives of the school board.
• Consultant is responsible for making all of its own travel arrangements for any work executed under this contract.
• The consultant shall allocate 2-3 days in the district for stakeholder engagement.
• The consultant will conduct interviews and focus group sessions.
• If the school board requests additional days in the district, hotel, and meal accommodations shall not exceed the GSA per diem rate for each day’s stay.
• Conduct a second search at no additional cost to the division if, within six (6) months, the selected candidate is terminated for reasons involving performance and competency.
