The Vendor is required to provide for school superintendents, who can conduct a comprehensive nationwide executive search for the position of superintendent, district.
- The search firm will be responsible for providing the following products:
• Timeline of activities and major events in the search process.
• Responsibilities to be assumed by the board, interim superintendent and the search firm during each phase of the process.
• Recommended methods for obtaining input from the following stakeholders as part of the process; a) staff and educators, b) board members, c) parents and families, and d) community; examples of schedules and focus group categories from previous searches.
• Recommended process for developing the selection criteria and the profile used to select the new superintendent.
• Description of the search firm’s process for advertising and recruitment, including measures to ensure a diverse pool of applicants, equal opportunity, and other considerations.
• Process for screening, reference and credential checks, interviews and final selection.
- The search firm will also be responsible for documenting adequate resources to staff the search process, specifically:
• Identification of the persons who will take primary responsibility for the search.
• Provide a resume for each person.
• We would expect that the persons designated as primarily responsible for the search will make the board presentation during the final phase of the selection process.
• Description of other superintendent and education leader searches conducted in the past five years for similar public school districts.
• The shortest, longest and average tenure of superintendents and education leaders appointed in other searches completed by the firm.
• A certification that the firm and its staff are not barred from bidding for or entering into a contract in state.
