The Vendor is required to provide executive search firms to support the recruitment of a Chief of Police.
- This work is intended to identify a qualified and experienced policing leader who can effectively lead the service and work collaboratively with the community, the Police Board, and municipal leadership.
- Applicant will bring a strong record of senior police leadership and demonstrated strengths in management, progressive thinking, innovation, community commitment, and effective administration.
- Provide a candidate who can deliver high-quality, cost-effective policing in a diverse, community-focused environment.
- Services:
• Work closely with the hiring committee to identify expected qualifications, skills and management style of the chief of police;
• Finalize the schedule for recruitment – review, interview and selection;
• Conduct a nationwide recruitment, including preparing a job announcement and application process, produce advertising materials; conduct recruitment using a variety of appropriate resources; as well as conduct targeted, personal recruitment of potential candidates; review and screen applications, including verification of credentials, qualifications and recommendations;
• Conduct preliminary interviews on selected candidates;
• Gather additional information to assist in the hiring committee’s evaluation of candidates;
• Coordinate and attend the interview process with the hiring committee and assist in preparing interview questions and other techniques to evaluate candidates;
• Compile comparative compensation data to assist the hiring committee in negotiating with the identified candidate regarding terms and conditions of employment as the chief of police.
