The Vendor is required to provide for in person or virtual court reporting services on an “as-and-when-requested” basis.
- Court Reporters:
• Have a minimum of 24 months of experience working as a court reporter;
• Have completed the court reporter certification program in the province in which the proceeding is occurring, if applicable;
• Dress in a manner that portrays a professional image, such as business attire or business- casual wear, suitable for the nature of the proceeding;
• Familiarize themselves with the proceeding or event before it begins using the information provided by agency. If the information is not detailed enough, it is the responsibility of the offeror to request further details to prepare accordingly;
• Operate at a minimum rate of 220 words per minute where an offeror provides court reporting services by way of stenographic machinery or voice-writing equipment.
• Provide the same court reporter(s) for the duration of a proceeding. In the event that the same court reporter is unavailable, the offeror must notify the agency of the replacement resource as soon as practically possible.
- Transcripts Specifications
• For each call-up, the offeror must follow the specifications and formats requested by agency.
• The call-up will specify whether only an electronic copy of the transcript(s) are required or if hard copy/copies are necessary and how many.
• The transcript must be certified and signed by the attending court reporter.
• For all transcripts produced in a hard copy format, the offeror must use standard, white, letter-sized paper that is 8½" x 11" (216 mm x 279 mm).
• Agency may request other types of paper and will specify the requirement in the call-up, the cost of which will be charged without markup.
• The electronic file of the transcript and the chess clock daily reports (if required) must be available in the software version requested by agency in the call-up and must be in an unlocked and readable format.
• The expected electronic file formats include Microsoft word (docx) and) and portable document format (.pdf) although other software versions may be required.
