The Vendor is required to provide to conduct professional services to complete an executive search for the recruitment of a chief executive officer.
- Executive Search Firm to:
• Conduct a comprehensive search for a diverse pool of highly qualified candidates for the chief executive officer position.
• Candidates must be state citizens or have immediate eligibility to work in state.
• Develop and implement a recruitment strategy that attracts a diverse range of exceptional candidates, ensuring equity and inclusion are central to the process.
• Collaborate with agency search committee to develop the criteria for candidate evaluation, including the creation of a compelling job description and the establishment of robust evaluation and assessment criteria.
• Screen and assess candidate applications against the established criteria to ensure alignment with the organization’s mission, values and needs.
• Support the interview and selection process, coordinating interviews with the search committee and assisting in assessing candidates through a comprehensive and structured process.
• Provide guidance and ongoing support to the search committee throughout the selection process, ensuring the final candidate aligns with agency mission, vision and values, and competence and leadership needs.
• Develop the position profile for the chief executive officer (CEO) position by meeting with agency staff and board members to obtain information regarding specific issues and opportunities facing agency, the desirable education, experience, skills, competencies and background of the ideal candidate, and identification of the leadership skills, competencies and style that are appropriate for the position and a fit with the organization.
• Develop a strategy for implementing the CEO recruitment (including submission and name of various publications, both hard copy and electronic format, in which the position will be advertised), and identify potential contacts through personal outreach to encourage applicants from diverse backgrounds to apply.
• Review resumes for background and qualifications followed by telephone or in-person interviews to clarify each applicant’s experience and credentials and to prepare a written summary of all candidates with the most promising qualifications.
• Evaluate candidates for serious consideration by conducting in-depth reference checks with individuals who are or have been in the position to evaluate the candidates’ performance on the job. A short list of candidates shall be presented to agency search committee for their consideration.
• Recommend and finalize a process with agency search committee for interviews and coordinating candidates’ participation in interviews.
• Debrief agency representatives following interviews and identify additional candidates, if necessary.
• Verify selected candidates' educational and employment background, financial/credit and coordinating criminal background checks.
• Notify candidates they were not selected.
• Assist agency in structuring the job offer, the employment package and relocation (if applicable) with the finalist.
• Provide agency with regular written status reports and keep candidates apprised of their status.
