The vendor is required to provide administer occupational health and medical services to individuals as identified by the county.
- Provide job descriptions and profiles for use in providing health screening and physical examinations.
- This program is essential for identifying and managing occupational illnesses, conducting pre-employment physicals, facilitating return-to-work assessments, and implementing drug and alcohol testing protocols in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Provide pre-employment (post contingent offer) physicals to candidates for employment and provide the results of the physical to the county.
- Perform its medical examination service and provide to the county the recommendation for the candidate.
- Medically qualified: if medically qualified, the applicant is placed without restrictions or accommodations.
- Conditionally qualified: if conditionally qualified, contractor will provide the county the specific facts contributing to this determination (examples: use of corrective lenses, hearing aid, wheelchair, etc.).
- An agreement with the recommendations for the specific accommodations required for placement must be included.
- Drug screening
• Drug screening reports will only be ordered for permissible purposes, such as determining an applicant's eligibility for initial or continued employment.
• Urine testing, being cost-effective and widely accepted, will be the primary method used.
• Oral swab testing may be considered in situations where speed is a priority, permissible purposes for drug testing, include but not limited to:
• Initial employment.
• Promotion.
• Reassignment.
• Retention as an employee.
• Random program.
• For a legitimate business need in connection with a business transaction that is initiated by the applicant. - Blood chemistry panels
• Supply laboratory kits for the purposes of collecting blood chemistry panels to assure the highest quality medical results from these tests.
• Updated laboratory collection protocols will be implemented for blood draws that are specifically job related and consistent with business necessity, in compliance with act.
